Hi, I'm Matt.
I'm the person who sees a small daily annoyance and can't help asking, "okay, but why does it work this way — and how could it work better?" That question has followed me from the factory floor to the supply chain to my garage workbench, and it's pretty much the thread that ties everything I do together.
Outside of work you'll usually find me building something. I've got a 3D printer and a CO₂ laser cutter earning their keep, a Raspberry Pi or two running projects around the house, and a batch of hard cider fermenting more often than not. I coach my son's baseball team, I'm endlessly curious about space and science, and I genuinely enjoy the puzzle of taking a rough idea and turning it into a thing that actually works.
What I do professionally
By day I'm a Supply Chain Manager at a residential solar company on California's Central Coast. I came up through demand and materials planning — including leading a planning team of six that kept our national warehouse network supplied — and today I run our RMA program, making sure our service technicians have exactly the material they need to fix customers' systems efficiently.
Two things genuinely light me up at work: process improvement and developing the people around me. I'd rather fix the system that creates ten fires than get really good at putting out the same fire ten times — and I get a real kick out of watching someone on my team level up.
Where AI comes in
More recently, I've found enormous value in using AI tools to build automations that cut costs and give time back to my teammates in the field — and to work more efficiently myself throughout the day. I'm not an engineer by title, but I've learned that with the right approach, AI lets you build genuinely useful things. This very website is one of them.
Open to consulting & side projects
I'm happy in my role, but I'm always interested in interesting problems — supply chain and operations consulting, process improvement, AI automation, or a good maker collaboration. If you've got something you're chewing on, I'd love to hear about it.
